Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver radiation treatments as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist • Operate Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator with proficiency • Utilize ARIA dosimetry system for treatment planning and documentation • Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient positioning and verification • Administer electron beam therapy and IMRT treatments • Execute respiratory gating and breath hold techniques for left breast treatments • Treat prostate cancer patients with seeds and fiducials • Perform electron field treatments with appropriate beam modifiers • Conduct field shaping and beam modification procedures • Provide patient care for adult outpatients across all age groups (adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics) • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Maintain current ARRT and ARRT(T) certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (4-5 hours non-billable) • Document patient treatments and maintain accurate records • Treat approximately 55 patients daily in outpatient oncology setting • Work Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts from 07:30 to 16:30 • Adhere to facility fatigue policy (no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week) • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete Epic charting system documentation as preferred • Participate in interdisciplinary team including interpretation services, social services, and rapid response teams • Maintain competency in tumor localization and stereotactic radiosurgery procedures • Perform custom mold and shield fabrication as needed • Execute specialized treatments for various cancer types including pancreatic and testicular cancers
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
