Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Case Management to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform utilization review and case management functions for acute care patients with 1:40 patient ratio
• Conduct concurrent reviews and continued stay reviews using InterQual criteria
• Review medical necessity for patient admissions and ongoing care
• Process prior authorizations and pre-certification reviews
• Handle appeals and denials in accordance with established protocols
• Perform retrospective reviews and audits as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient management
• Apply knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and HEDIS measures
• Work with Medicare regulations including CC44s, ABNs, HINNs, and MCSNs
• Collaborate with HMOs, IPAs, and other insurance entities
• Maintain compliance with CMS, HIPAA guidelines, and Joint Commission standards
• Work minimum of 4 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Float between sister facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide care across all age groups including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Maintain current CA state nursing license
• Adhere to Pacific Standard Time scheduling requirements
• Follow strict adherence to CA labor laws regarding breaks and overtime policies
• Complete 40 hours of facility orientation
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
