Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacy Tech - Pharmacy Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide pharmacy technician services in inpatient/acute care setting
• Maintain valid state pharmacy technician license
• Perform drug interaction monitoring and resolution
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy automation systems
• Stock and maintain automation systems with proper inventory levels
• Utilize formulary approved product lists for medication dispensing
• Manage National Drug Code (NDC) lot numbers and applications
• Execute ordering and receiving processes while maintaining par levels and rotating stock
• Handle medication recalls, returns, outdates, and reverse distribution
• Ensure proper medication storage and labeling requirements
• Process medication orders through order entry systems
• Meet packaging requirements for pharmaceutical products
• Prepare IV mixtures using aseptic technique
• Compound sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products
• Prepare chemotherapy and hazardous drug preparations
• Operate and sterilize laminar and horizontal flow hoods
• Handle HD admixture and non-HD admixture preparations
• Utilize BSC, LFH, and BD Optima equipment
• Work with Epic charting system for documentation
• Serve adult and geriatric patient populations
• Support hematology and oncology patient care
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering required employment period
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Complete 80 hours of orientation training
• Maintain current certifications including Chemo/Hazardous Drug, IV Certification, CSPT, and CPHt
• Adhere to proper handling and disposal requirements for pharmaceutical products
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in WA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
