Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician - Emergency Medicine to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading Hospital in Mt Pleasant, MI. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency medicine physician services for ongoing coverage • Manage emergency department patients with average daily volume of 54 patients • Work with support staff including one full-time midlevel and 2 PRNs • Supervise midlevel provider on duty • Utilize Cerner EHR system for patient documentation • Respond to house codes and provide airway support • Monitor and supervise paramedics/ambulance communications via radio • Coordinate patient transfers and referrals according to established protocols • Interpret EKGs and sign off on printed results • Work with available consultants including cardiologist • Collaborate with hospitalist for patient admissions and orders • Provide care in 18-bed emergency department • Handle approximately 8% daily admission rate and 2% transfer rate • Clock in/out using DocTime system for billing purposes • Complete required orientation and training programs • Maintain current board certification in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice with ER experience • Maintain valid Michigan state medical license • Keep current DEA registration • Maintain ATLS/PALS certifications as required • Complete all required employee health documentation and vaccinations • Work varied shifts including 8a-8p and 8p-8a schedules • Provide coverage for 7-day periods as scheduled
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
