Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 11.5Hrs Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care for high-risk obstetrical patients • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications • Demonstrate proficiency with Epic charting system for patient documentation • Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries • Circulate for C-sections and recover post-surgical patients • Perform comprehensive newborn assessments and provide neonatal care • Provide couplet care and mother-baby nursing services • Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and anticoagulants • Monitor and interpret external and internal fetal heart monitoring • Perform sterile vaginal exams and assist with sterile speculum exams • Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to new mothers • Conduct patient education including discharge teaching and circumcision care • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain valid state licensure and provide supervisory references • Triage obstetrical patients and assess priority of care needs • Manage patient ratios of 1-3 patients effectively • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient safety
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
