Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services as a Registered Nurse in Med Surg specialty
• Float to all acute care units including Ortho, Neuro, med-surg, telemetry, surgical tele, and oncology
• Float to affiliate hospital locations to cover tele and med-surg floors as needed
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Complete license/certificate verification and maintain current RN licensure
• Complete fit testing and health screening requirements
• Pass 9 panel drug screening
• Complete code of conduct and compliance documentation
• Complete confidentiality of patient information and system security agreement
• Complete integrity and audit services documentation
• Pass specialty specific competency testing
• Complete color vision testing
• Complete child and adult dependent abuse training
• Complete skills checklist assessment
• Maintain required immunizations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Tdap
• Complete tuberculosis screening via 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing
• Complete physical/health statement documentation
• Complete criminal background check and education verification
• Complete conflict of interest disclosure and system access requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
