Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician - Emergency Medicine to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency medicine physician coverage for locum assignment • Work 9, 10, or 12 hour shifts as scheduled • Manage approximately 1.8 patients per hour in emergency department setting • Perform adult outpatient emergency medicine procedures • Provide pediatric general outpatient emergency care • Conduct newborn resuscitation when required • Manage non-displaced orthopedic fractures • Perform suturing of minor lacerations • Conduct incision and drainage procedures • Provide psychiatric care for uncomplicated adult, child/adolescent, and geriatric patients • Diagnose and manage common industrial-related medical problems • Manage ventilation including establishing and maintaining airways with various ventilation modes for up to 24 hours without pulmonary consultation • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues • Perform central line and arterial line procedures • Interpret EKGs accurately • Conduct arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis procedures • Perform emergency medicine related procedures as needed • Utilize Cerner electronic health record system for patient documentation • Work collaboratively with APP support, nursing, tech staff, radiology, and laboratory services • Clock in and out using Kronos system for time tracking • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Complete required employee health documentation and vaccinations • Work weekend shifts as scheduled • Adhere to facility policies and procedures for emergency medicine practice
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
