Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Centerville, IA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technology services with varying shifts of 8-10 hours depending on department needs
• Complete 10-12 call shifts per month as assigned
• Participate in on-call team during holidays as part of holiday rotation
• Complete Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training
• Complete required state reporting and compliance training
• Complete OFAC screening and compliance requirements
• Demonstrate competency through skills checklist completion
• Maintain current license and certificate verification
• Complete required fit testing for personal protective equipment
• Pass 9-panel drug screening
• Adhere to organizational code of conduct
• Complete confidentiality and system security agreements
• Pass specialty-specific competency testing
• Complete color vision testing
• Maintain required immunizations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, TB screening, and Varicella
• Complete annual physical and health assessments
• Undergo criminal background check and maintain clear background status
• Complete education verification requirements
• Pass Joint Commission competency testing
• Maintain professional liability insurance coverage
• Complete system access and security training
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
