Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PCU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to intermediate population specialized in neurological and medical intermediate patients
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
• Work with telemetry monitoring, ventilators, IV starts, and drip medications
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio for up to 24 patients on unit
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 - 07:15
• Float to other intermediate areas and critical care units as required
• Work 3 weekends every 6 weeks, totaling 6 weekend shifts between Saturday and Sunday
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems for patient care and documentation
• Complete 32 hours of unit orientation including 8-hour computer class and two unit shifts
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Participate in self-scheduling system balanced and approved by staff
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Comply with facility dress code requiring navy blue and white scrub combinations
• Complete required lab testing within 48 hours after contract signing
• Maintain valid RN licensure in North Carolina or compact state
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
