Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Plainview, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) with low acuity patients
• Work independently as the primary nurse when sole staffing occurs
• Function as charge nurse over the ICU unit
• Maintain 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios
• Float to Medical-Surgical units as charge nurse or floor nurse as needed
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals when required
• Manage patients with diagnoses including DKA insulin drips, sepsis, and A-fib with RVR
• Perform advanced nursing skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, and central line care
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive medications
• Manage blood product administration and IV insulin protocols
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Maintain valid compact nursing license
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
