Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Plainview, TX. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in ICU setting with ability to work independently and charge over low acuity ICU
- Manage patient care with 1:3 nurse to patient ratios
- Float to Medical-Surgical units as charge nurse or floor nurse as needed
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac conditions
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Provide arterial line management and central line care/management
- Administer continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Assist with BiPAP and CPAP management
- Provide care for ventilated patients including suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including DKA, sepsis, and A-fib with RVR
- Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
- Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
- Complete 40 hours of orientation
- Complete required modules pre-start and annually
- Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Maintain valid compact state license
- Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
