Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacist - Pharmacist to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide pharmacy services for acute care hospital patients including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Maintain current BLS certification and valid state licensure • Perform clinical dosing for various patient populations including pediatric, geriatric, and renal dosing • Manage high-alert medications and therapeutic medication monitoring • Compound medications using sterile technique and prepare IV piggyback solutions • Prepare and package antineoplastic agents and manage chemotherapy protocols • Monitor and dose anticoagulants including warfarin dosing protocols • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and pharmacy operations • Work with Pyxis medication dispensing systems • Prepare total parenteral nutrition (TPN) mixers and hyperalimentation solutions • Manage pain controlled analgesia protocols • Provide pharmacy services across multiple specialty areas including cardiovascular, oncologic, infectious disease, and psychiatric medications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work variable shifts between 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM including weekends and weekdays rotation • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Generate and review inventory reports and override reports • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Complete required compliance documentation and certifications • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
