Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to postpartum units and sister facilities as needed
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations (required skill - hard stop)
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk deliveries
• Provide neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain management
• Monitor fetal heart rates using external and internal fetal monitoring
• Provide postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum assessment
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education
• Perform triage of obstetrical patients
• Assist with epidural anesthesia administration
• Provide discharge teaching to parents
• Complete pre-start and annual training modules (non-billable time)
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty
• Be available for potential on-call duties depending on census
• Work with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• Complete 40-hour facility orientation program
• Adhere to facility dress code and policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
