Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide respiratory therapy services for all patient populations including neonates, infants, and pediatrics
• Work in multiple departments including Emergency Department, Critical Care ICU, NICU, PICU, Pediatric ED, and medical/surgical floors
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Manage ventilator and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) systems
• Administer nebulizer treatments and aerosol therapies
• Provide oxygen therapy and airway management
• Perform suctioning procedures including nasal airway, oral/nasal, and tracheostomy suctioning
• Manage CPAP and BiPAP therapy
• Conduct pulmonary toileting and bronchoscope procedures
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Monitor and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
• Assist with weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
• Perform extubation procedures
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float between pediatric units and floors as needed based on census
• Complete 3 on-call shifts per 6-week period as required
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Complete 24-30 hours of unit orientation
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Maintain current certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
