Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Peds to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in acute care setting
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Manage central and peripheral line care and management
• Perform airway management and oxygen protocol management
• Recognize and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Monitor chemotherapy patients (monitoring only, does not initiate)
• Provide various feeding methods including gavage, bottle, and breastfeeding education
• Manage hyperbilirubinemia treatment protocols
• Implement and maintain isolation precautions as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for computerized documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals within skillset as needed
• Work weekend shifts and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty
• Maintain valid state nursing license
• Comply with facility dress code and policies
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
