Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonatal patients in Level 3 or 4 NICU setting with minimum 3 years experience • Manage patient ratios of 1:2-4 across 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15) • Care for premature infants (as low as 22 weeks), surgical infants, and patients with hypoxic injury • Perform therapeutic hypothermia, nitric oxide administration, and manage UAC/UVC lines • Manage specialized equipment including Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Alaris IV pumps, Med Fusion for feedings, Servo Vents, HFOV, Baby Leo, and Giraffe • Utilize Epic charting system, Pyxis, SBAR, and 4P systems for documentation and communication • Float to Peds/PICU/nursery caring for infants up to and including 12 months as needed • Administer blood and blood products, antibiotics/antivirals, and IV vasopressors • Provide bubble CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) • Perform central line blood draws and manage colostomy/ileostomy care • Conduct feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and tracheostomy care/management • Maintain isolation precautions and perform sepsis work-ups • Work 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays, and 3 Sundays in a 6-week period • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation and 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, Pharmacy, and other support services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
