Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intensive care nursing services for adult and geriatric patients in a 1:2 ratio • Maintain current ACLS and BCLS certifications • Demonstrate proficiency in arterial line management and blood product administration • Provide care for ventilated patients and manage central line care • Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and BiPAP/CPAP management • Manage patients with chronic/acute renal failure and multisystem organ dysfunction • Administer continuous IV sedation and manage IV insulin protocols • Provide CVA/acute stroke management and post-cardiac surgery care • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage dysrhythmias • Monitor and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips • Manage patients with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury • Perform phlebotomy and maintain IV access • Provide suctioning (ETT, NT) and manage surgical wounds with drains • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Lift Teams • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain valid state licensure and provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
