Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Salem, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide registered nursing care in operating room settings during day shifts with variable start times (07:00-17:30, 09:00-19:30, 11:00-21:30) • Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS certification (preferred) • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation and medical records • Perform perioperative nursing duties for various surgical procedures including orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and trauma cases • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources • Assist with laparoscopic procedures, robotic surgeries, and trauma surgeries • Complete 5-6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule including night call shifts (23:00-07:00) • Float between facilities and to affiliate hospitals as required, including West Valley Hospital • Provide care for patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Follow AORN staffing ratios and standards for operating room nursing practice • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (up to 8 non-billable hours) • Participate in code response procedures and rapid response team activities • Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to universal protocol procedures including surgical time-outs • Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing according to facility standards • Comply with safety protocols including fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures • Work weekday scheduled shifts of 10-12 hours and weekend shifts of 10-12 hours as assigned • Complete 30 hours of facility orientation upon assignment start
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
