Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 nights at a leading Hospital in Petoskey, MI. Key Responsibilities:
• Use clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions
• Provide nursing care for cardiovascular patients including those undergoing PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip and bi-ventricular pacemaker procedures
• Care for open heart surgery patients in post-operative recovery (18-24 hours post-op)
• Provide specialized nursing care for patients with congestive heart failure
• Assist with electrophysiology studies and related patient care
• Support national clinical trials managed by research department
• Demonstrate EKG comfortability and interpretation skills
• Manage ventilators for critically ill patients
• Operate and monitor CRRT and balloon pump equipment
• Float to similar units as required
• Complete skills checklist within one year of application
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Adhere to strict attendance policy with no more than 2 absences or late arrivals exceeding 20 minutes
• Make up any call-ins within the contract time frame
• Work holiday shifts when scheduled from 7 pm eve of holiday to 7 pm of holiday
• Maintain Michigan state nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• Collaborate with leadership, medical staff, and colleagues to demonstrate top performance in care, efficiency, and community value
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
