Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant - Medical Assistant to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a positive public image by dealing with patients with high level of courtesy and respect
• Assist physicians with basic office medical functions to ensure coordinated approach to patient activities
• Work closely with physicians to ensure expedient, appropriate patient care
• Perform patient and family education, counseling, and teaching
• Bring patients into exam rooms and obtain brief history of complaints
• Prepare patients for examinations and take vital signs
• Perform clerical work including referrals, scheduling appointments with other physicians and facilities
• Fill out forms and answer phones
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as needed
• Stock rooms, take care of instruments and autoclave equipment
• Assist in orientation of personnel with emphasis on nursing aspects
• Administer injections
• Attend staff meetings and in-services
• Assume charge position as required in absence of supervisory personnel
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned or required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
