Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Apple Valley, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care in operating room settings during 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700) • Participate in on-call duties from 0700-0700 with estimated 70-90 hours in 6-week period • Assist with surgical procedures including ENT, General, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Plastics, Podiatry, Robotics, Spine, Total Joints, Urology, and Vascular cases • Support open heart surgery (CABG) procedures in dedicated surgical suite • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Stryker, and Smith and Nephew equipment • Float between main OR (6 surgical suites) and outpatient surgery center (3 surgical suites) • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and patient records • Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications • Administer blood and blood products as required • Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to code situations • Start peripheral IVs and perform urinary catheterization • Handle specimens appropriately with proper labeling procedures • Implement Universal Protocol (Time out) procedures for patient safety • Maintain infection control standards and fire safety protocols • Manage wound care and post-operative patient needs • Work weekends as required based on staffing needs • Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Float between facilities within the state as assigned • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
